Great place to get homemade local comfort food. When I come home to Kauai to visit, I always stop in for a onoliscious meal!
Every time I come back to Kauai, this local spot feels like home. I've been eating here since I was a kid, and it's always on my list of places to stop at when I visit home. The food is comfort in every bite. The service is always warm and welcoming.
We were looking for the last authentic Hawaiian as a goodbye just before our flight and we found it! This is a mom-and-pop restaurant where even the children help with operations (I love to see it). I noticed it was full of locals and they all knew the names of the people operating the business. The menu has many local favorites, but we chose the corned beef hash loco mock and the chicken katsu; both came with white rice and over easy eggs. The katsu chicken was delicious, but the corned beef hash loco moco was out of his world, I cannot recommend this dish enough.
Great food, good value and service with a smile! We grabbed takeout from here yesterday and our meals were great. We had the pork and chicken chow mien which was loaded with tasty fresh veggies as well as the meat. The kalau and cabbage and fried rice were really good as well. They have a wide variety of American, Asian and Hawaiian dishes available. We ordered online and the food was ready quickly, in less than 15 minutes.
It's been awhile since I ate here so finally I came with my fellow co works for our Thanks giving luncheon.Of course the food was good!.The service was outstanding!.There were about 13 of us in the group and they made arrangements to seat all of us.Then they provided us with complimentary corn beef hash with mushrooms n gravy to start.They were really tasty!.Then we placed our orders.I ordered the 2 choice combo.I had the Chicken cutlet with Bbq Teri steak.I had no problem eating all of it!.It was so delicious n satisfying!.We had a great time!!.So if you're really hungry and you want good food ?.Come here!.You'll leave feeling happy n the staff is will make you feel like your family..I'll be back very soon!.
Nice place with some great food and service. They have a large variety of local style food and we did our best to try as much as we could. Got the Oriental mix plate, saimin noodles and loaded fries. They were all made authentic style and were very tasty. Couldn't come close to finishing it because the portions were really big. Try this place out for local style food.
Dont expect to eat light here, there is nothing light about it. Plates are massive and food is piled high. It's not a place for the healthy but it's a place for some good delicious eats!
Always support local! Our go to spot for breakfast or lunch! Good local kauai food. My husband and I love their chicken katsu plate, saimin, and cornbeef hash patties. Service is simple, you place your order at the counter, pay, then find a seat. Waipouli restaurant has been in the same location for years to expect a traditional local ambiance.
